GSI Group Inc. of Billerica, Mass., has signed a three-year aerospace contract valued at $6 million with Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. of Boulder, Colo., to provide MicroE Systems space-qualified encoders from its Precision Motion Div. The encoders are feedback sensors used for motion control in automated machinery and robotics systems. They have applications in the medical and semiconductor industries.
