SINGAPORE, June 20, 2006 -- Sixteen British companies and organizations are among those showcasing products at CommunicAsia 2006, being held this week at Singapore Expo. The UK group is sponsoring a collective presentation organized by TradeFair on behalf of Intellect, a trade association for the UK high-tech industry, and the Communications & Information Technology Association (CITA). The UK Trade & Investment, a government program to promote exports and investment, is providing support for the collaboration.

The British delegation includes PPM, a provider of analog fiber optic link technology that is exhibiting VitaLite broadband, a new wide dynamic range 470-860MHz fiber optic link providing a high-performance transparent cross-site connection between radio frequency (RF) communications equipment. VitaLite is designed for UHF or COFDM digital TV signal transportation with dynamic range and results in negligible degradation of signals due to noise or inter-modulation effects, PPM said. It is also introducing VitaLite Metro-GPS, for transporting GPS RF signals to remote locations that lack a GPS antenna.

A new L-band matrix or router, the Enigma 32x32, is being highlighted by ETL Systems, a specialist in L-band, IF and broadband equipment for satellite ground stations. The unit is designed for satellite ground stations and offers over 60 dB of isolation in a 6U shelf. It can be expanded up to 512x512 and can be compatible with IF and broadband frequencies.

Digitalk is promoting its multiservice platform (MSP), a service-ready solution for telecommunications service providers to allow a fast time-to-market for a full line of voice services, delivered from a single network infrastructure, using both TDM and VoIP. Services supported include broadband telephony, service numbers (intelligent number services), mass calling (televoting), conferencing, direct (E1/T1) and indirect (CPS/1xxxx) residential and business telephony and pre-paid services, including calling cards.

CASTECH INC - High Precision CNC Polished Aspherical Lenses

fibreblow, a blown-fiber passive infrastructure system developed by Emtelle, allows fiber to be blown into already-existing tubes. The company produces a very small, lightweight yet robust, passive infrastructure system based on microducts (starting at 3 mm), into which Emtelle-produced fiber units from 2-12 fibers are later blown in. Fibreblow was recently been selected to provide optical network technology at Changi Airport in Singapore and installed a PON (passive optical network)-based FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) deployment in a condominium in Leonie Hill, Singapore.

Management Mobile Cohesion is promoting its Hydra 3.0 3PRMT system, which acts as a bridge between a mobile operator's network and service providers to tracks business relationships.

Also represented in the group is S3 Satcom, a specialist in satellite systems integration that supplies and installs fixed satellite earth stations and VSAT networks.

An automated online product locator service to bring together buyers and suppliers from the UK telecommunications industry is being debuted at CommunicAsia. Users simply add contact details and product areas of interest when registering, and the information is sent directly to participating UK companies via SMS (short message service) or e-mail. In turn, those who have registered for the service will receive an SMS containing a link to a WAP (wireless application portal) or an e-mail to view company contact details, including booth numbers.
