Nov 2006
Kimberly D.C. Trapp, an industry liaison officer at Lehigh University’s Center for Optical Technologies, has joined the board of Lumera Corp., a Bothell, Wash., nanotechnology company that makes molecular structures and polymer compounds for the bioscience and communications/computing industries. Trapp has 23 years of optoelectronics industry experience. Before joining Lehigh in 2003, she was marketing operations director at Agere Systems. Previously, she was responsible for managing and developing the 10 Gb/s lithium niobate modulator product portfolio at AT&T Bell Labs. She has written more than 30 technical papers and journal publications as well as 20 conference presentations and is a frequent speaker on optics research and optoelectronic technologies and products.

The use of atoms, molecules and molecular-scale structures to enhance existing technology and develop new materials and devices. The goal of this technology is to manipulate atomic and molecular particles to create devices that are thousands of times smaller and faster than those of the current microtechnologies.
