The study of LEDs for lighting considers material advances, the outlook for white LEDs and new applications in signage, rail and traffic signals, and automotive and marine lighting. The examination of LCDs focuses on materials and device properties, improvements in the technology, manufacturing processes and future trends, including flexible and 3-D displays.
