In Fremont, Calif., VaConics Lighting Inc., a producer of high-intensity xenon arc lamps, has been acquired by PerkinElmer Optoelectronics. The latter company will gain technology, design expertise and product depth for its medical lighting business, strengthening its position in the endoscopy and surgical headlamp markets.
