Affymetrix Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., has entered into an agreement to acquire USB Corp. of Cleveland, a developer and manufacturer of molecular biology products and biochemical reagents. The purchase price is approximately $75 million. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of this year, and it will allow the California-based company to accelerate the development and commercialization of its genetic analysis solutions.
