The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Biospace med of Paris to market its new digital x-ray imager for 2-D use. The EOS 2-D/3-D device offers a low dose of radiation — up to 10 times less than that of current systems — and long-length digital imaging which, combined, permit uninterrupted full-body imaging with a single scan. The instrument performs standing-position imaging, enabling orthopedic surgeons to view the natural alignment of joints.
