Guided Therapeutics Inc. of Norcross, Ga., has announced the completion of its FDA clinical trial of LightTouch, a noninvasive device used to detect cervical cancer. The instrument has the potential to identify precancerous and cancerous tissue by light reflection, and it can determine biochemical and morphological cellular changes in the cervix. Because tissue samples are not required, there is no pain, and results are immediate.
