Caliper Life Sciences Inc. of Hopkinton, Mass., has received a Notice of Allowance from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a patent covering noninvasive light-based animal imaging. Specifically, it covers methods based on fluorescent or bioluminescent light sources bound to cells, microorganisms, particles, biological molecules or other biocompatible entities, and it is used for in vivo imaging of mammals.
