PerkinElmer Inc. of Boston has signed a €23 million (~$30 million) agreement with Evotec AG of Hamburg, Germany, to acquire the latter company’s subsidiary, Evotec Technologies GmbH. The German concern manufactures software and equipment for the analysis, screening and handling of cells, which the American company intends to offer to its customers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields.

In other news, PerkinElmer has signed an agreement with Euroscreen SA of Gosselies, Belgium, to acquire its wholly owned subsidiary, Euroscreen Products SA, in a cash transaction. Under the terms of the agreement, the American concern will acquire the latter company’s G protein-coupled receptor screening tools and its exclusive global license to Aequo-Screen, an aequorin-based, luminescent cellular assay technology.
