Gamma Medica Inc. of Northridge, Calif., has signed an agreement to acquire Advanced Molecular Imaging Inc. of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. The former company intends to integrate the Canadian imaging device manufacturer’s fully digital PET scanner as well as its own digital single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) product into its current PET/SPECT/CT system. The two devices also will enable integration with magnetic resonance, representing the company’s movement toward completely digital systems. Facilities and staff of each company will remain in their respective locations.
