Bruker Promotes Managers, Reports on Q4

BILLERICA, Mass., Feb. 5, 2010 – Provider of high-performance scientific instruments and solutions for molecular and materials research, Bruker Corp. has announced management changes and its preliminary operating results for its fourth quarter, which ended Dec. 31, 2009.

Effective immediately, the company’s former chief financial officer, William Knight has become its chief operating officer. Succeeding Knight as chief financial officer is Brian Monahan, who previously held the title vice president of finance. Additionally, Dr. Werner Maas and Dr. Bernd Gewiese were promoted to co-presidents of the company’s BioSpin division.

The company has also released preliminary, unaudited operating results for its fourth quarter in 2009. Exceeding its expectations, the company has estimated revenue to be greater than $355 million. Its Scientific Instruments (BSI) segment expects a GAAP operating margin greater than 18%, while its Energy & Supercon Technologies (BEST) segment has estimated revenue greater than $20 million, with year-over-year growth greater than 75%. BEST also anticipates a reduced year-over-year operating loss.
