Headquartered in Torrington, the company also has locations in Germany, China and Hong Kong, which serve the assembly needs of the medical, electronic, optical, military, automotive, appliance, metal finishing and industrial markets worldwide.

Founder Andrew Bachmann grew the company from an invention he developed in a basement laboratory into a global supplier of structural adhesives, coatings, encapsulants and light-curing systems used widely in assembly applications.

Additionally, his commitment has led to the development of over 30 patents, including fluorescing adhesives and adhesives that can cure through semi-opaque and UV-inhibited plastics.

Glossary
adhesive
An intermolecular substance that serves to hold materials together. Two types are used in the optical industry: one, which must be transparent and colorless, to cement lenses together; and a general-purpose adhesive for bonding prisms and other glass parts to their metallic supports.
optical
Pertaining to optics and the phenomena of light.
optical coatings
Optical coatings are thin layers of materials applied to optical components, such as lenses, mirrors, filters, and prisms, to modify their reflective and transmissive properties. These coatings are designed to enhance the performance of optical systems by controlling the way light interacts with the surfaces of the components. The primary purposes of optical coatings include: Antireflection coating: This type of coating is designed to reduce reflections from the surfaces of optical...
ultraviolet
That invisible region of the spectrum just beyond the violet end of the visible region. Wavelengths range from 1 to 400 nm.
