Apr 2010
JPK Instruments AG of Berlin, a nanoanalytic instruments manufacturer, has announced the installation of multiple instruments at the new Swansea University Centre for NanoHealth in Wales, UK. JPK’s patented NanoWizard atomic force microscopy platform initially will be used at the center for cell mechanics, fingerprinting techniques using tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, and electrical mode innovations.

GLOSSARY
raman spectroscopy
That branch of spectroscopy concerned with Raman spectra and used to provide a means of studying pure rotational, pure vibrational and rotation-vibration energy changes in the ground level of molecules. Raman spectroscopy is dependent on the collision of incident light quanta with the molecule, inducing the molecule to undergo the change.
