Precision optical subassemblies and systems provider LightWorks Optics Inc. of Tustin, Calif., announced that is has been approved by the National Institutes of Health for a second year of Small Business Innovation Research funding under the auspices of the “Lab to Marketplace” program. The company is working with researchers from the University of California, Irvine, to develop and commercialize technology that can integrate microdevice fabrication and optical design to enable selection, separation and collection of adherent cells.
