The application laboratory at P.A.L.M. Microlaser Technologies GmbH of Bernried, a subsidiary of Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbH of Jena, both in Germany, has been approved to perform processes designated for facilities with S1 status. The company may micro-dissect and process safety level 1 genetically modified organisms for molecular-biological examinations. The expansion allows increased flexibility in specimen selection, further cooperation with other institutes and improved micromanipulation possibilities.
