Supplier Appointment
The digital imaging business unit
of Jenoptik Optical Systems GmbH has received the Preferred Supplier Award from
Leica Camera AG of Solms, Germany. Appointed preferred supplier, Jenoptik received
the award for its fast production and ramp-up of the components for the Leica M9
rangefinder camera. In conjunction with Leica, it developed the electronic core
components and transferred them to mass production at its Jena, Germany, site. The
companies will collaborate to extend their new products and projects. The digital
imaging division develops and manufactures the high-performance systems used in
photography, microscopy and other applications for life sciences, biotechnology
and industrial metrology.
