Princeton Taps New Sales Engineers, OEM Business Manager

TRENTON, N.J., Oct. 27, 2010 — Princeton Instruments announced recently the appointment of two new regional sales engineer positions in the US for physical science sales. In addition, the company has hired for regional positions, including an OEM business manager and a sales engineer for its MegaPlus industrial cameras.

Lynn Melton was hired recently to cover the Southeastern states, including South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Prior to joining the company, she served as a senior sales engineer at Ocean Optics.

To cover the Rocky Mountain/Northwest region of the US, the company hired Tim Osbourn. He will work from Broomfield, Colo. Prior to joining the company, he worked for EMD Chemicals.

In their new positions, both will be responsible for sales and application support for PI’s CCD, EMCCD and ICCD cameras, as well as spectrometers and systems for the university and government research markets.

The PI team also welcomes Sheridan Haggerty to its company in the new OEM business manager position. Haggerty will dedicate support and resources to the company’s OEM partners.

Preston Barrett was also hired as a sales engineer for the company’s MegaPlus line of industrial cameras. He has previously held positions at Pixel Vision, Sarnoff and VersaLogic Corp.

Princeton Instruments manufactures high-performance CCD, ICCd, and EMCCD cameras; spectrographs; and optics-based solutions for the scientific research, industrial imaging and OEM markets.

spectrograph
An optical instrument for forming the spectrum of a light source and recording it on a film. The dispersing medium may be a prism or a diffraction grating. A concave grating requires no other means to form a sharp image of the slit on the film, but a plane grating or a prism requires auxiliary lenses or concave mirrors to act as image-forming means in addition to the dispersing element.
