$750,000 Navy Contract

In Wellesley, Mass., Bodkin Design & Engineering LLC has received a $750,000 Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the US Navy for the development of a compact polarimetric imager for IR and visible wavelengths. To aid in the detection of targets from airborne and ground-based surveillance, the polarimeter sensor cuts through cluttered environments to identify and locate military targets in real time. Its design provides a compact device without cumbersome optics or specially fabricated focal planes. With the addition of polarimetric capabilities to its family of image sensors, the company will be able to improve warfighters’ capabilities.
