Industrial laser maker Rofin-Sinar Technologies
Inc. has acquired Lasag AG of Thun, Switzerland, from The Swatch Group Ltd. of Biel/Bienne,
Switzerland, for an undisclosed amount of cash. Lasag manufactures industrial Nd:YAG
lasers for materials processing. Lasag’s locations in Thun and Chicago will
be maintained, said Rofin-Sinar, which is based in Hamburg, Germany, and manages
its US operations from Plymouth, Mich. Further terms of the transaction, which is
subject to customary closing conditions, were not disclosed.
