Acquisition Grows Spectroscopy Portfolio

Agilent Technologies Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., is expanding its spectroscopy product offerings by purchasing the privately held A2 Technologies. Financial details were not disclosed. The acquisition includes substantially all of Danbury, Conn.-based A2 Technologies’ intellectual property, technology, employees and its spectroscopy product portfolio. A2 Technologies focuses on Fourier transform infrared technology for lab and field use. The company manufactures the spectrometers for routine analysis and out-of-lab applications in the petrochemical, environmental, aerospace, art conservation, academic and geoscience markets. The transaction was scheduled to be final in mid-February.
