ChemImage to Receive Army SBIR Achievement Award

PITTSBURGH, May 18, 2011 — ChemImage Corp. announced it will receive the US Army Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) 2011 Achievement Award for its real-time chemometrics and sensor fusion technology on May 20 at the Pentagon Conference Center in Washington.

The technology utilizes multiple sensor platforms combined with a set of algorithms and software to detect and analyze the signatures of chemical, biological and explosive threats, reducing a soldier’s exposure to harm.

Held annually, the awards program recognizes exceptional SBIR Phase II efforts exemplifying the goal of bringing innovative technologies and products to the marketplace. Of the more than 649 nominations received for the 2011 prizes, ChemImage was one of 11 companies nationwide that most exhibited originality and innovation, a technological impact on the soldier, immediate commercialization potential and overall quality performance.

Award recipients will be featured in the 2011 US Army SBIR commercialization brochure.
