QCL-Based JammIR Laser Successfully Tested

SAN DIEGO, July 7, 2011 — Daylight Defense LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daylight Solutions Inc., announced that its JammIR laser system successfully defeated heat-seeking missile threats during a test conducted by the US Air Force.

Throughout the test program, the quantum cascade laser (QCL) based system was evaluated against multiple missile threats and over several hundred test events. As witnessed by a broad audience of US government and industry stakeholders, the JammIR laser system consistently defeated these threats in all tests. These results closely follow recent announcements of several successful environmental and flight tests of the company’s JammIR laser product line by the US Navy and other contractors.

With this most recent set of tests, the capabilities of JammIR laser systems have now been validated as protecting both large aircraft and smaller fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft against missile threats such as man-portable air defense systems.
