Laser World of Photonics 2011, a laser and photonics trade fair and congress held in Munich, Germany, in May, set a record with a 6 percent increase in exhibitors (1100) and an 8 percent increase in attendees (27,500), representing 80 countries. The largest growth areas were in the medical, biophotonics, renewable energies and electromobility fields.
