Novotech Completes Modernization Plan
Infrared optics and germanium materials supplier Novotech Inc. of Acton, Mass., has completed an equipment modernization plan that includes the purchase of automated robotic optics edging and curve-generating machines that can produce several thousand units per day. In addition, Novotech said, a computer numerical control polishing machine from OptiPro Systems of Ontario, N.Y., can handle large-size windows and lenses up to 200 mm in diameter. Several saws manufactured by the former Silicon Technologies Corp. were upgraded with numerical controllers, and two additional inner diameter saws were delivered. Also, a Precitech diamond turning machine was upgraded with the HS75 high-speed spindle.
