Samsung Mobile to Buy Novaled AMOLEDs

DRESDEN, Germany, and SEOUL, South Korea, July 3, 2012 — In its latest licensing and purchase agreement with Samsung Mobile Display (SMD), organic LED (OLED) company Novaled will provide proprietary positive-intrinsic-negative (PIN) OLED technology for SMD’s next generation of mobile active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display modules.

SMD also has committed to purchasing dopant materials used in the transport layers of its AMOLED display modules from Novaled for several years.

Novaled’s PIN OLED technology enables OLEDs with very low driving voltage, high substrate compatibility and power efficiency, and a long lifetime.

Samsung has cooperated with Novaled since 2005 to advance OLED products.
