RMI Forms Infrared Unit

LAFAYETTE, Colo., Nov. 9, 2012 — Rocky Mountain Instrument has formed a unit, RMI Infrared LLC, to manufacture and distribute high-grade zinc selenide (ZnSe) material and finished optics, the company said this week.

RMI Infrared offers several fabrication options for its chemical vapor deposition-grown ZnSe, the company said, such as sufficient material to yield, core drilled blanks, edged blanks and polished and ready-to-be-coated blanks. Lenses and coatings are optimized for 10.6 µm. The company said it can also supply finished custom CO2 laser optics to end users.
