Medical device maker Infraredx Inc. has appointed Michael Guarasci as chief financial officer.

Guarasci has more than 25 years of experience in financial operations and investment management, most recently at Indus Capital Partners LLC, where he was chief operating officer. Before that, he held leadership positions at the Credit Suisse US Asset Management division. He holds a BS from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Privately funded Infraredx was founded in 1998 and makes the TVC Imaging System, an intravascular unit that uses intravascular ultrasound and near-infrared spectroscopy to help cardiologists identify patients with coronary heart disease who are prone to stenting complications.
