Murata will move its European headquarters to Hoofddorp on Jan. 1, 2014.

Located 15 km from the center of Amsterdam, the new building is 1 km from the Hoofddorp train station and one stop away from the Schiphol airport. The building also will accommodate the company’s Netherlands sales operations.

“These new offices will provide the facilities we lack in our present location and meet all the requirements of our staff and visiting customers,” said Murata President Glenn Palmer. “We are convinced that the new building will improve our staff's working environment and drive enthusiasm and harmony within the company, where employee satisfaction is one of our key values."

Murata is a manufacturer of electronic components, modules and devices that include ceramic capacitors, resistors, thermistors and inductors. It also manufactures board-mount DC/DC converters and standard or custom AC/DC power supplies. Murata is based in Japan, with European offices also in Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Finland and Hungary.
