FITCHBURG, Mass., Oct. 31, 2013 — Headwall Photonics has signed Diessechem srl of Milan and Rome as distributor of its hyperspectral sensors and Raman imagers in Italy.

Diessechem will manage Headwall’s products through its Diesseinstrument unit. Product manager Francesco Beccari, who has extensive experience in spectral imaging, will handle sales, support and training, Headwall said.

Since Diessechem handles complementary imaging technologies, it will be able to provide end-to-end, application-specific products built around Headwall’s sensors, the company said.

“Spectral imaging is much more than simply a catalog of products,” Beccari said. “Our ability to now offer Headwall’s industry-leading hyperspectral imagers across all our markets represents a very important advancement for our clients across Italy.”

“From pharmaceuticals to food processing, to remote sensing, Diessechem is uniquely able to fulfill rising demand for Headwall’s spectral imaging instruments and custom spectrometers as well as provide the critical training and engineering assistance vital to every successful deployment,” Headwall CEO David Bannon said.

Headwall’s sensors are used for remote sensing, advanced machine vision, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and mining and mineral exploration.
