Brad Little is the new vice president and general manager of the High Reliability Semiconductor Solutions business at e2v aerospace and defense in Milpitas, Calif. Little most recently served as enhanced industrial segment manager at Texas Instruments.

CyberOptics Corp. of Minneapolis has appointed Dr. Subodh Kulkarni executive chairman. He also is a CyberOptics director, and owner and CEO of Prism Computational Sciences, a developer of software tools for control of high-energy plasma used in many scientific applications.



Imaging technology expert Dr. Roman Kuranov has joined Wasatch Photonics Inc. of Logan, Utah, as its principal scientist to oversee development of its OCT imaging systems. Kuranov previously was a research faculty member in the ophthalmology department at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio; he also was an R&D engineer at Volcano Corp. and CardioSpectra.

Optoelectronics industry veteran Mark Vosloo has been appointed CEO of laser and analytical spectrometer maker Edinburgh Instruments Ltd. of Livingston, Scotland. Vosloo joins the company from Oxford Instruments, where he held various management and senior commercial roles over the past nine years.



PhotoMachining Inc. of Pelham, N.H., has named Joey Placenti its new technical sales engineer. He will be responsible for laser micromachining contract manufacturing and system sales. Placenti is a former employee of Hadco, Coretec and Endicott Interconnect Technologies.



Dr. Peter Kirlin was named president of Photronics Inc. He had served as the company’s US and Europe senior vice president since August 2008; He previously held executive titles at Akrion Inc., Entegris Inc. and DuPont Photomasks Inc.

Jenoptik AG CEO Dr. Michael Mertin has joined the German Corporate Governance Code Commission, which reviews standards for corporate management and supervision. Mertin has been CEO of Jenoptik since 2007, and has served as president of the European technology platform Photonics21 since November 2012.
