Laser World of Photonics China 2016Forums, conferences, panel discussions and presentations of application examples, as well as hundreds of exhibitors from around the world will be in Shanghai next week — March 15-17 — for Laser World of Photonics China and the Photonics Congress China at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The 2016 Congress features the latest research and development in laser technology, laser processing and related applications, laser additive manufacturing and laser 3D printing, manufacturing of optical components, machine vision, optoelectronics, advanced laser materials, films and devices, laser safety, and laser beam analysis. More than 200 speakers and 3,000 delegates are expected to attend. There are also several conferences within the Congress, including:

The 11th International Laser Processing and Systems Conference (LPC 2016) — some of the speakers to be featured are Dr. Henry Helvajian of Aerospace Corp. (U.S.), Reinhart Poprawe of Fraunhofer ILT (Germany), Xianfan Xu from Purdue University (U.S.), and Richard Haglund from Vanderbilt University (U.S.)

China Laser Market Summit 2016 — topics will include the 2015-2016 laser market in China and worldwide, as well as strategy for the world's leading laser companies, international business opportunities, and a business model and development strategy involving capital and financial tools for SMEs.

Optics Frontier, the 11th National Conference on Laser Technology and Optoelectronics; International Forum on Modern Optical Manufacturing Engineering and Sciences; Workshop on Safety of Industrial Lasers and Systems Use 2016; and the Advanced Training Course for Laser and Micro/Nano Manufacturing.

The China Machine Vision Technology and Application Conference will also be held. It is organized by the China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG) and Messe München, and showcases key industry components and parts. Experts, researchers and engineers from all application industries attend this conference, which provides a platform for presentations and finding industry solutions. Topics of discussion will include applications for machine vision technology, and the development and trends in the machine vision market.

Called “China’s platform for the photonics community,” the Laser World of Photonics China exhibition and trade fair brings together international companies and manufacturers, displaying and presenting many products. Among them are industrial solutions and applications, laser and optoelectronic devices and components (solid-state lasers, gas lasers, assembly systems and more), optical system adhesives, measurement systems, biophotonics engineering, machine vision systems, and optical metrology systems. Services such as assistance with contract production, application development, system consulting, optical design, and professional financing services will also be offered.

These conferences, in addition to the trade fair, combine scientific research and industrial applications and also support the exchange of information and expertise between the scientific, manufacturing and industrial sectors.
