TAUFKIRCHEN, Germany, June 22, 2018 — Image and vision technology supplier FRAMOS GbmH has appointed Chris Barrett as vice president of sensor engineering.

Chris Barrett"I'm very pleased to join FRAMOS and be part of their growth as they move into their next phase,” Barrett said. “I think their investment and focus into modules and embedded systems is going to be a winning strategy; it's the growth area in imaging, and I'm excited to be part of the team. I look forward to helping bring the company and their technology into new spheres."

Barrett brings more than 20 years of experience in engineering, R&D, operations, and product development. While co-CEO of International Datacasting, he managed all operations and engineering, including projects developing low-latency HD video solutions and developing a 4K decoder that was used to show the FIFA World Cup in 2014. Prior to IDC, Barrett held the roles of vice president of engineering at both Lumenera Corp. and Pleora Technologies. He will now lead FRAMOS’ global sensor and module engineering group.

“As imaging continues to enable new verticals and markets due to innovation in both technology and business models, there are some clear opportunities to leverage our supplier and partner network as well as our own technology,” said Sebastien Dignard, president and senior vice president of sales and marketing at FRAMOS. “Chris Barrett is the latest addition to our management team and brings the necessary engineering experience to help us drive our next wave of solutions and products.”

The FRAMOS engineering group supports vision system developers with technical expertise, IP solutions, and services.
