CVI Laser Corporation announced the ribbon cutting on August 26, 1999, for its $4 million manufacturing expansion. Founded in 1972 in Albuquerque, N.M., by Dr. Yu H. Hahn, CVI has grown from two employees to more than 300 at six sites around the world. CVI designs and manufactures laser optical components and electro-optical systems for the semiconductor, biomedical and research markets. CVI has developed a wide range of products that facilitate many new applications for laser technology in semiconductor manufacturing and laser surgery.
