PixTech Delivers Displays to US Army

BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 14 -- PixTech Inc. has completed a 1999 Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency contract with the delivery of two prototype 12.1-inch full color field emission displays to the US Army. The contract called for PixTech to develop a Low-Power, Wide Angle of View, Spatial Color Field Emission Display for Rapid Information Update Applications. The US Army's Tank-Automotive Command will test and provide continuing feedback on the prototypes.
The prototypes are full color, video rate capable, have 800 x 600 resolution, 100:1 intrinsic contrast ratio (typical), 160-degree viewing angle both horizontally and vertically, and have a response time of less than 3 ms.
