LIVERMORE, Calif., May 17 -- Alloptic Inc. is conducting field trials with twenty-three carriers and service providers. Firms testing network solution include: Shaw -- Big Pipe, IP Networks, Fiberhood, Aexis Telecom, Changzhou Broadcast and TV Information Networks, and Dynamic Systems Integration.
    The implementation of Alloptic's IP Ethernet Passive Optical Network (PON) solution in these trials reflects demands from service providers to address the growing convergence of voice, data and video, with an efficient and cost-effective true broadband optical infrastructure. Alloptic is leading the efforts for endorsement of a strong Ethernet PON solution by the IEEE, and the standards community.
