'Bar Code' Tags Aid Bioanalysis

Biochemical reactions involve hundreds, sometimes thousands, of unique molecules. Fluorescent markers can be targeted toward specific molecules, but only a handful of spectrally distinct markers can feasibly be identified simultaneously in solution.
