DENVER, May 9 -- Liteye Systems and IBM Corp. have entered a license agreement for lightweight, high-resolution head-mounted displays that Liteye plans to manufacture for computer applications. IBM's proprietary technologies will be combined with Liteye's high-resolution display capabilities. The result will be a sleeker, smaller and lightweight headset. Liteye head-mounted display units can be attached to flight helmets, combat helmets and hardhats in addition to wearable computers. They can display everything from a computer screen to infrared video images.Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesHyperspectral Tech of Fraunhofer Spinoff Aids Chip ProductionResearchers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS (Fraunhofer IWS) have established a spinoff company to commercialize a measuring system developed at the institute....Photonics Spectra June 2023 IssueEmbedded AI Localizes Data Processing for Greater Speed, SecurityThe Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) aims to support more secure, faster data processing by integrating machine learning algorithms into digital devices.
