SEAL BEACH, Calif., May 13 -- The Boeing Co. is installing its Digital Cinema systems in movie theaters across the United States and in London. The Boeing system, which uses satellite, fiber optics and physical media technologies, will be installed in 23 theatres this week. Other theater locations will be posted at the Boeing Digital Cinema Web site www.boeing.com. Boeing said digital movies have clearer images, without defects typically seen in 35-millimeter film such as scratches, dirt, mechanical jumps or other degradation. "Digital Cinema will give theaters using the Boeing system a...Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesResearchers Boost Coupling Efficiency of Lithium Niobate DevicesResearchers at Sun Yat-sen University and Nanjing University designed and fabricated a thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) edge coupler that will allow TFLN-based periodically poled lithium niobate...Photonics Spectra September 2022 IssuePhotonic Crystals Imitate Gravitational Effects on LightA group of researchers has replicated the way that light would behave if it were subject to gravity, supporting a recent scientific theory about pseudogravity.
