Fujitsu Quantum Devices and Sumitomo Electric Industries Redefine MSA
TOKYO, Sept. 9 -- Fujitsu Quantum Devices Ltd. and Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. have announced enhancements to their multisource agreement (MSA) for a 10 Gb/s transmission laser diode module. The MSA, which was announced in March 2002, defines a standard for a 1.55 micron wavelength distributed feedback laser diode. The laser diode is monolithically integrated with an electro-absorption modulator mounted onto a metal ceramic package with a driver IC. It transmits data at speeds of 10 Gb/s, in compliance with ITU-T G.691 and Telecodia GR-253-CORE. In response to customer requests, the MSA...Read full article
