ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 13 -- Eastman Kodak Co. has announced it will close its Citipix business -- which provides aerial imagery to the geographic information systems community -- eliminating 140 jobs at the Quebec-based unit of Kodak Global Imaging Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kodak. The closing follows Kodak's announcement last month of cost reductions, beginning in the fourth quarter of 2002 and in 2003, that will cut 1,300 to 1,700 jobs globally. Kodak said the Citipix business "was impacted severely by dramatic spending decreases in the markets it served for these products,...Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesTeam Deepens Understanding of IC-PIC Integration's Thermal PenaltyCo-packaged optics for high performance computing and other data center applications require dense integration of silicon PICs with electronic integrated circuits (EICs).
