Raytheon Co. has been awarded a contract to produce three integrated sensor suites and one enhanced integrated sensor suite (EISS) for the Global Hawk high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft. The company's ISS currently installed on the Global Hawk provides near real-time imagery and has been used in US mission in Afghanistan and Iraq. Northrop Grumman is the prime contractor on the Global Hawk. The Raytheon work will be done in El Segundo, Calif., as part of a contract awarded to Northrop Grumman by the US Air Force, and is scheduled for completion by March 2006. Raytheon also...Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesPhotonics Technologies at the Fore as First James Webb Space Telescope Images ReleasedThe first images from the James Webb Space Telescope are being released today, following an initial release of a “teaser” image July 7, and a subsequent preview image released July 11...Photonics.com 7/12/2022Teledyne’s Thermal by FLIR Program ExpandsTeledyne FLIR’s Thermal by FLIR program for small, unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) is expanding.
