Polarized, Single-Mode Fiber Laser Generates 633 W

Although unpolarized fiber lasers have generated output in excess of 1 kW with high-quality beams, polarized outputs have been significantly lower, on the order of 300 W. Polarized outputs are important, however, in many applications, including nonlinear optics, materials processing and medicine. Figure 1.
