Kollmorgen Awarded Sights Contract

NORTHAMPTON, Mass., Aug. 25 -- Kollmorgen Electro-Optical Corp., based in Northampton, Mass., was awarded a $13,750,000 contract by the Naval Sea Systems Command to make 11 MK46 optical sight systems, which provide day- and night-vision capabilities for the Navy's Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyers. The systems enable 24-hour surveillance, intelligence gathering and reconnaissance. Work will be performed in Northampton and in Brattleboro, Vt., and is expected to be completed by December 2007.
