Universal Display Corp. of Ewing, N.J., has been awarded a two-year, $750,000 Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract from the US Department of Energy to develop a white organic LED light source using its transparent organic LED technology. White organic LEDs have the potential to generate light more efficiently than traditional light sources and may provide significant energy and cost savings on a national and global basis.
