Kiyomi Monro was recently named director of business development, marketing and sales at IMRA America Inc., an Ann Arbor, Mich., maker of ultrafast fiber laser technologies for commercial applications. Monro was formerly senior product marketing manager at Coherent Inc., most recently for its diode-pumped solid state laser product lines, and was previously market development manager for its Asia Pacific region. At IMRA, Monro’s responsibilities will include business development, focusing on industrial applications; product marketing for IMRA's core technologies; strategic marketing to identify major opportunities in ultrafast material processing; application development; and sales management.
