Coreco Inc. in St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada, has inked an agreement to buy the imaging board business of Dipix Technologies Inc. in Ottawa. Philip Colet, director of sales and marketing at Coreco, said the purchase provides access to applications engineering skills for image processing and software. With the acquisition, Coreco will expand its presence in the high-end vision market. Additional synergy comes through Dipix's expertise in developing line-scan camera applications, which will provide entry into new markets for Coreco's hardware. Terms of the agreement, which had been under negotiation for a couple of months, were not released. Dipix will continue to operate out of Ottawa with no employee cuts planned.
