CyberOptics Acquires HAMA Laboratories

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., May 7 -- CyberOptics Corp. has acquired the assets of HAMA Laboratories, Inc. (HAMA) for approximately $6.75 million, with additional consideration to follow. HAMA is a designer and manufacturer of laser wafer-mapping and aligning sensors used in semiconductor wafer fabrication; it supplies sensors to most major OEMs of robotic wafer handling equipment. HAMA's laser-based mapping sensors detect the presence of silicon wafers in slotted cassettes that store the wafers during transport to fabrication workstations.
