Trumpf Laser Div. Makes Personnel Changes

FARMINGTON, Conn., April 20, 2010 — Trumpf Inc. has announced several changes within its laser division. David Havrilla, formerly manager, high power lasers, has been promoted to manager of products and applications. Havrilla, who has been involved with industrial lasers for more than 23 years, holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and has done post-graduate study at the Imperial College in England, where he investigated the viability of laser cladding die components.     The low-refractive-index material that surrounds the core of an optical fiber to contain core light while protecting against surface contaminant scattering. In all-glass fibers, the cladding is glass. In plastic-clad silica fibers, the plastic cladding also may serve as the coating.
