!%The Centre Suisse d’Electronique et de Microtechnique (CSEM) SA%! will spearhead the Plasmonic Innovative Sensing in the Infrared project, which has been awarded a €2.8 million grant from the European Union. The grant will run for three years. The project, begun Jan. 1, 2010, will create ultrasensitive chemical sensors and smarter, cheaper IR photodetectors for the marketplace. CSEM will coordinate and facilitate the technology transfer between academic partners and small and medium enterprises.
